The project’s objective was the ROS integration of a LIDAR with millimeter precision accuracy. The LIDAR was integrated in ROS and further abstractions for the LIDAR were created on top making the component become a first class participant of the ROS ecosystem. The final concept was tested in several environments with different robots and demonstrations were provided.
